Key Biscayne Police Station: A Modern Law Enforcement Hub

The project covers approximately 12,000 square feet over two floors, with an estimated construction cost of $6.5 million. It is currently fully operational.

The primary objective of this project was to establish a state-of-the-art facility to enhance police operations, emergency response, and public safety services. This facility functions as a central hub for law enforcement, crime prevention, and local engagement initiatives, significantly impacting the community.

Design & Infrastructure Features

The design includes several key elements:

Functional Layout: The facility features open workspaces for law enforcement and administrative teams, secure evidence storage areas for case management, and private rooms for interrogations and interviews.

Community-Oriented Spaces: The facility includes public-access areas for visitors, reports, and community meetings. It is designed to support local crime prevention and outreach programs.

Integrated Technology: Advanced communication networks facilitate rapid emergency response. The facility is equipped with digital surveillance systems for real-time monitoring and security.

Sustainability & Safety: The design incorporates energy-efficient lighting and climate control systems. The facility is hurricane-resistant, with impact-resistant windows and reinforced roofing.

Construction & Safety Features

Storm-Resilient Structure: Engineered to withstand Category 5 hurricane conditions, meeting Miami-Dade’s strict building codes.

Specialized Infrastructure: High-performance electrical and plumbing systems are designed for 24/7 operation.

Additional Facilities

The facility also includes holding cells for temporary detention before inmate transfers, training and development rooms for ongoing officer training and skill enhancement, and secure parking for law enforcement vehicles and staff members.
