Rehabilitation of Five Electrical Substations in Haiti

This project involved the rehabilitation of five electrical substations in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, following the devastation caused by the 2010 earthquake. The scope of work included assessing and testing the existing equipment, procuring five new transformers, and relocating eight transformers owned by Haiti’s electrical utility.

Project Scope

In addition to the electrical work, the project included repairs to the perimeter fencing and substation buildings and the installation of SCADA systems to improve operational efficiency and monitoring. A comprehensive safety training program was introduced for the local workforce, ensuring zero safety incidents throughout the project’s duration.

Project Significance

This initiative played a crucial role in restoring Haiti’s electrical infrastructure, contributing significantly to the recovery efforts post-earthquake.
