This project involved the expansion and elevation of an existing runway to a total length of 8,000 feet and a width of 150 feet, along with the construction of a new 75-foot-wide, full-length parallel taxiway. Additional work included the development of cross-field taxiways, an instrument landing system, and a new aircraft staging and hold pad.
The scope also encompassed the construction of multiple bridges to support the elevated runway and parallel taxiway. These bridges spanned key transportation routes, including U.S. Route 1, the Florida East Coast Railroad, the airport perimeter road, and access ramps, ensuring seamless integration with the airport’s infrastructure.
